Superconquerors

I've read Romans 8:37 thousands of times, but the depth of the truth of it never really hit me until now.

Romans 8:37
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

In what exactly are we more than conquerors? The context tells us.

Romans 8:35-37
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

According to the word, we are more than conquerors in tribulation, which is mental pressure, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, and sword, which refers to war. In all these things, in tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril and sword, we are more than conquerors. We're not just conquerors, we're more than conquerors, super conquerors. In other words, we don't just scrape through life's challenges, we absolutely triumph over them.

How is this possible?

1 John 3:2
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

1 John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

We are super conquerors because greater is he that's in us, the Christ in us, than he that's in the world. Who is he that is in the world?

John 10:10
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have
it more abundantly.

The thief is Lucifer, the devil, who comes only to steal, to kill, and to destroy. He may be a monster, but always remember, he's just an impudent, disobedient angel who got his arse kicked out of heaven.

Lucifer is the one responsible for tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril and sword. He is the thief who steals, kills, and destroys. He is a liar and a murderer. Lucifer is not a child of God, we are. Lucifer is not an heir of God, we are. He's headed for a thousand years of solitary confinement followed by being chucked into the lake of fire. That's his future. That's all he has to look forward to.

When God raised Jesus Christ from the dead our redemption was secured. When we are born again, when we receive the gift of holy spirit, we are saved, made whole, with body, soul and spirit. It is that spirit that is the Christ in us, it is that spirit which is our eternal life, it is that spirit of Christ in us which gives us the power to be more than conquerors.

We are not merely conquerors over the works of Lucifer and his angels, we can totally demolish them. That's what Moses did when he led God's people across the Red Sea and Pharaoh's army was completely destroyed. They didn't just escape by the skin of their teeth, every last one of those Egyptians was drowned. Always remember that Lucifer is nothing more than a disobedient angel who got his arse kicked out of heaven. Good job Michael. Glad you're on our side pal.

1 John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

When we realise who we are in Christ, when we believe to energise the power and authority we have, when we recognise our position in the spiritual realm as children of the living God and demonstrate God's power, we can absolutely triumph over anything. This isn't make-believe, this isn't fairy tales, this is the truth.

Psalm 91 was written for our learning. The Israelites to whom the psalm was originally addressed did not have Christ in them. If they could live the truths in this psalm, what about us as children of the living God?

Psalm 91:1-3
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

If they could live safely in the shadow of the Almighty, would God not keep us safely today? If those Israelites could claim God as their refuge and fortress, would God be less than a refuge and fortress for his own children? If he delivered those people from the snare of the fowler, would he allow the fowler to snare us??? If we want to be more than conquerors, we need to wipe the sleep from our eyes, and get our heads back into the word of God.

Psalm 91:4-6
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth
shall be thy shield and buckler.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

If God covered those people with his feathers for their protection, would he do less for us? God's truth, which is the word, is our shield and buckler. A shield deflects powerful enemy attacks, while the buckler on the front of the shield was used as an offensive weapon to injure attackers.

Today, of course, our fight isn't against flesh and blood, but against Lucifer and his angels, against spiritual wickedness from on high.

Ephesians 6:10-13
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day [withstand the evil one], and having done all, to stand.

As we put the word on in our minds, believe it in our hearts and energise the Christ in us, we can withstand the evil one, the disobedient angel who got his arse kicked out of heaven. We are not super conquerors by our own human abilities, but by the Christ in us, the power of God in the gift of holy spirit. Greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world.

Psalm 91:7-9
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand;
but it shall not come nigh thee.

Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

Do you want to be one of those who sees the reward of the wicked, or do you want to be one of the corpses lying in the street? It's your choice. If your trust is in the world, if your trust is in the money you have in the bank, if your god is the world's stock markets, if television is more important to you than being in the word, I suggest you change your god.

Psalm 91:10-12
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Do you want to live safely? If you live according to the word and keep your heart in it, you'll have the protection.

Psalm 91:13
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

Do you hear what this is saying? It says we will tread upon the lion and the adder. Those are figurative references to devil spirits. It also says we will trample the dragon under our feet. Do you know who the dragon is?

Revelation 12:17
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Look, either the word is the truth or it isn't. Either greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world, or he isn't. If your god, if your trust, if your heart is in the things of the world, you're not going to triumph over anything. Oh, you may have a ton of money in the bank, a nice house and two cars parked on the driveway, but if that's the god you've put your trust in, I don't fancy your chances when the banks close their doors and run off with all your money.

Some will call me arrogant for speaking about Lucifer like this. Look, I didn't start this fight. He's the murderer, the liar, and the thief. He's been murdering God's children for centuries. I'm not picking a fight, he's the one picking fights, he's the one walking about stealing, killing and destroying, he's the one who strutted around heaven with his flashy nametag lusting after the worship of men. He started this, I didn't.

While we're here, let's handle this spiritual war thing. Are we in a war, or are we just in a little competition here? Some teach that we're not in a war, that this is all just a game, and they quote Ephesians and say it's all allegorical. Really? Well Lucifer and his devil spirits don't consider this a game. If you think this is just a game we're playing, I suggest you wake up. This is a matter of life and death, it isn't just some stupid religious game.

Revelation 12:15-17
And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.

And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

It's about time we started living as more than conquerors as God intended. Our job is to destroy the works of the devil, not walk around with our hearts and our trust in Lucifer's crappy world. Either greater is he that is in us or he isn't. Make up your minds.

1 John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Look at what God said to Joshua in the old testament.

Joshua1:9
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God
is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Joshua 23:10
One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the LORD your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.

Is the word true or isn't it? God wants us to trample the dragon under our feet, he wants us to chase thousands of those disobedient angels who got their arses kicked out of heaven. What do you think being a christian means? Going to church with a stupid smile on your face, singing a few songs and sitting through a boring shit sermon every week? Is that your idea of being a super conqueror? Is that your idea of destroying the works of the devil?

1 John 3:8b
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Jesus Christ was the son of God, yes, but who are the sons of God today in this Age of Grace? Who are God's children in this Administration of the Mystery?

1 John 3:2
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

That's right, we are sons of God, and we are to destroy the works of the devil, not walk around with our hearts and our trust in his world. If you think the money you have in the bank is going to take care of you when the world caves in, you're just a corpse waiting for somewhere to lie on the ground.

Oh sure, some will say I have no right to teach like this. They'll say I'm too big for my boots and quote Jude at me. Well, let's look at Jude.

Jude 1:9
Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

Lucifer was second in command in heaven. Lucifer was the angel of light, he was Michael's superior. If Michael dared not put his trust in himself when dealing with Lucifer, then nor should we. Michael prevailed over Lucifer because he put his trust in God. That's what we do as well. My trust isn't in myself, my trust is in my God and in the Christ in me.

1 John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Want a new sonship right? Here you go then, we have the right to be super conquerors and destroy the works of the devil. As children of the living God, we have the right to fight against the rulers of the darkness of this world and triumph over them. As Jude teaches, this right isn't based on our own powers and abilities, but in the power of God that we have the right to demonstrate.

1 Corinthians 2:4,5
And my speech and my preaching
was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

That your faith [believing] should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

With all this in mind, let's now read Ephesians.

Ephesians 6:10-12
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

We need to wipe the religious sleep from our eyes and read verse 12 again in a new light.

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high
places.

The verse says we don't wrestle against flesh and blood. I have no problem with that, but that's not the point of the verse, is it? Read it again.

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high
places.

The point of the verse isn't to stop us wrestling, it's about being clear on who our enemy is.

We fight, but not against flesh and blood, with people, our fight is with the principalities, powers, and the rulers of the darkness of this world. Our fight is against spiritual wickedness from on high. Our fight is against Lucifer and his hordes of disobedient angels who got their arses kicked out of heaven.

Do you see how this verse has been twisted by broken cisterns? They use this verse to strip us of the will to fight. The verse isn't telling us not to fight, it's telling us to stay focused on who our enemy is. Our fight isn't against each other, we're to fight together as disciples and destroy the works of the devil. We are God's children, we have the right and the authority to fight together to destroy the works of the devil.

1 John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

We have Christ in us. We have the authority and the right to be super conquerors and destroy the works of the devil. Without Christ in us, we would not have that authority and right. As children of the living God, not only do we have the authority and the right to fight against the spiritual darkness of this world, it is our duty. Why do you think God gave us armour and weapons? So we could go to church every week and listen to some religious dickhead telling us to be nice to everyone and not upset anyone?

Ephesians 6:13-17
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day [withstand the evil one], and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Above all, taking the shield of faith [believing], wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

We put on the whole armour of God so we can stand against the evil one, Lucifer. We stand with our loins girt with truth, which means we put the word on in our minds until our thoughts are armour plated. We put on the breastplate of righteousness, and we shod our feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace. We take the shield of believing and quench the fiery darts of the wicked. We take the helmet of salvation, and we wield the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God. As children of the living God we are to fight against the rulers of the darkness of this world and destroy their works.

You home church leaders out there with the responsibility to care for God's children, what is your idea of being a super conqueror? A well paying job, driving a fast car and going for a holiday abroad every year? If that's your idea of the more abundant life, it's about time you got your heart out of the things of the world and put your heart back into the word.

Folks, it's time to stand. Jobs, money, cars, mobile phones, fancy clothes, the latest television, and holidays abroad come and go, but the word of God lives and abides forever. Where's your heart? Is it in the world and the things of the world? Or is it in the word and the things of God?

Colossians 3:2
Set your affection [your thoughts] on things above, not on things on the earth.

Let's read Ephesians 6:12 again and see if we can see the truth in it now.

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high
places.

No matter what comes our way in life, we can defeat it. It doesn't matter what it is. What's bigger than God? He can even part oceans if that's what it takes.

Jeremiah 32:27
Behold, I
am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

Rather than walk around with inane smiles trying to be nice to everyone because churches tell us our fight isn't against flesh and blood, we should be taking people on and confronting them for their evil. I'm not going to smile inanely at the world. Jesus Christ didn't either. When he was attacked by religious assholes, he confronted them in public. Aren't we supposed to be doing the same works he did? What do you think wrestling against spiritual wickedness means? Smiling inanely at the world?

Rather than have your will to fight stripped from you by broken religious shithole cisterns, why not start believing the word and gear up for a fight?

Psalm 60:12
Through God we shall do valiantly: for he
it is that shall tread down our enemies.

Want this truth established? Okay, here it is again, is that established enough for you?

Psalm 108:13
Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

God wants us to be super conquerors. He wants us to prevail in life. It's time we took a stand as children of the living God and destroyed the works of the devil. It's the only way to help people.
